Abstract

This paper explores the available empirical evidence regarding such issues as federal spending and social policy during the presidency of Ronald Reagan to demonstrate, much puffery by his legion fans to the contrary notwithstanding, there was no such thing as a “conservative revolution” or “Reagan revolution” in American domestic policy and politics during the last two decades of the twentieth century.
