Abstract

Maintaining adequate nutrition in the diabetic CAPD patient is difficult enough even without the common complication of vomiting due to gastroparesis. While oral metoclopramide is helpful, I often wonder whether those patients “resistant” to the drug are simply not absorbing it due to vomiting or for other reasons. Are there any data on administering the drug intraperitoneally via the dialysis fluid?
