Abstract

Objective To explore the related factors for cholecystolithiasis with impaired liver function. Methods 37 patients with cholecystolithiasis and impaired liver function who had been hospitalized from January 2005 to January 2010 received antibiotic therapy, liver protection, and holecystectomy. The changes in liver function were observed. Results All the patients were discharged with recovery. The bio-chemical markers returned to normal in 29 patients one week after surgery; 6 patients had a mild ALT elevation and 2 had a higher AST level and the levels of ALT and AST returned to normal two weeks later. Conclusions Patients with cholecystolithiasis and impaired liver function should receive prompt surgery, antibiotic therapy, and liver protection. Early surgery plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of impaired liver function. Key words: Cholelithiasis; Liver function; Impairment
