Abstract
Treatment of idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSHL) is usually a challenge for the otologist. Several treatment modalities have been studied with varying success, however a specific treatment for ISSHL is still unknown. Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy is one of the promising treatments in the management of ISSHL. A recent study by Suzuki and co-workers comparing the effectiveness of prostaglandin E(1) plus HBO therapy with that of steroid plus HBO therapy in ISSHL appeared in your journal [1].
