Abstract

This review article provides an excellent introduction to the immunopathology of skin. The authors describe the mechanisms that trigger leukocyte migration into inflamed skin, highlighting the role of the cutaneous lymphocyte antigen (CLA) in this process, and after summarize the major T-cell mediated skin disorders. Their final conclusion is that targeting the processes that regulate the homing of T-lymphocytes to the skin is likely to be a major advance for the treatment of these inflammatory skin diseases.
