Abstract

Activities can provide a beneficial experience for impaired elderly in a variety of health and social service settings. When coupled with basic knowledge and interdisciplinary effort, activities can be used as an effective therapeutic intervention. Activities which can be used as individual intervention can be organized into at least six categories: crafts, creative expression, personal discovery, environmental involvement, intergenerational involvement, community involvement. and self-directive activities.
