Abstract

Th-2-biased immune responses are known to play a key role in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis. In particular, TLRs play important roles in inflammation and innate immune response to pathogens. TLR8 is a potent inducer of proinflammatory cytokines. TLRs are also correlated with disease severity in atopic dermatitis. In this study, we hypothesized the immune suppression using bacteria expressing TLR8 miRNA would be induced therapeutic effects on atopic diseases.
