Abstract

[Objective]To observe the effect of psychological intervention combined with sertraline and hyperbaric oxygen therapy on patients with post-stroke depression(PSD).[Methods]Ninty-six patients with post-stroke depression were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 48cases in each group. The two groups were both treated with routine rehabilitation and anti-depression drugs(sertraline) for 8 weeks as a routine course of treatment, but psychological intervention combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy was added to the treatment group.Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) and Modified Barthel Index(MBI)scores were evaluated at the end of 8 weeks.[Results]There was no significant difference in the average HAMD,NIHSS and MBI scores of the two groups before therapy (P>0.05).After treatment, the average HAMD and NIHSS scores of the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the average MBI score was significantly higher (P<0.01).[Conclusions]Psychological intervention combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy plays an important role in the treatrnent of patients with post-stroke depression to improve their mental status, relieve depression degree and quality of life.
