Abstract

Abstract The interaction between a monoenergetic X-ray beam and the electronic distribution of a crystalline sample results in the formation of a well-defined X-ray scattering pattern. The scattering pattern is highly sensitive to crystal structure and the inherent microscopic order of nuclei within the crystal in terms of both spatial orientation and position is projected into the macroscopic environment by the scattering process.
