Abstract

The energy-gap function Δ is a dominant feature in the long-wavelength optical spectrum of superconductors. We find Δ to be a function of qz as well as of temperature. We derive the equation that it satisfies and display some features of the solutions, including the gap-distribution function and the quasi-particle density of states, for a range of values of the parameters α, F, and tz.
