Abstract

Kinetic equations are presented that are used to describe the bimolecular process of changing the state of electron spins (spin exchange) of paramagnetic particles caused by their exchange interaction in collisions. The theoretically calculated effective radii and spin exchange rate constants are presented. The conditions for the realization of equivalent spin exchange are discussed in detail. Under conditions of nonequivalent spin exchange, a frequency shifts of the EPR transitions occur. The role of re-encounters of pairs of particles during meetings, the role of the extended nature of the exchange integral, the influence of the total spin of a paramagnetic particle, the anisotropic nature of the distribution of the spin density of paramagnetic particles and the charge of paramagnetic particles are discussed in detail.
