Abstract

1. A description is given of the derivation of the equation of a hyperbola expressing the compressibility of metal powders and of the experimental determination of the constants of this equation. 2. A method is proposed for finding the maximum strip-forming pressure Pm with the aid of a family of compressibility curves representing the degree of densification plotted against the ratio of the maximum pressure Pm to the constant A of the hyperbola. 3. Rolling mill parameters (size of backlash and mill rigidity) have been introduced into the fundamental rolling equation; a method of determining these parameters is described.
