Abstract

We derive expressions for the fluctuation conductivity and fluctuation specific heat of high-T c superconductors by taking into account the quasi two-dimensionality of the tight-binding band. Small band dispersion along the c-axis yields 2D to 3D crossover. The resulting coherence lengths in the basal plane are calculated explicitly for the Hubbard models of Emery and Mattis and Mattis and for different pair states (s-wave, d-wave, uniaxial s-d-wave). We can fit the experimental values for YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−d by assuming reasonable values for band width, band filling, and impurity scattering-rate.
