Abstract
A review is given of the theoretical ideas concerning the propulsion mechanisms of the catalytic microand nanoengines, which are prospective in robotics, biomedical engineering and environmental sustainability. Enhanced degradation of organic pollutants in water at small-scale environments underlies an important potential application of catalytic microengines.
