Abstract

This research study explored the relationship between theory and practice in the academic performance of nursing students. Specifically, the study aimed to determine if there is a correlation between the level of theoretical knowledge and competence in the clinical area among third-year BCU-BSN students. The authors utilized a total enumeration sampling technique to gather data from all the target respondents. The findings of the study revealed that the third-year nursing students performed slightly and marginally satisfactorily in meeting classroom requirements, which is considered an average level of efficiency. Additionally, the BSN III students demonstrated moderate performance in the clinical area, particularly in the practice of delivering quality nursing care. Furthermore, the results indicated that the students performed better in the clinical area compared to the classroom setting.
