Abstract
We report physical random bit generation with on-chip chaos lasers. The design of the laser device is based on a theoretical model for non-deterministic random bit generation by amplification of microscopic noise. It is shown that the bit sequences generated at rates up to 2.08 gigabit per second (Gbit/s) pass a standard statistical test suite of randomness.
