Abstract

The article generally analyzes the main theories concerning selective attention and some lasest findings in this aspect, and tries to integrate such theories with multimedia-based English class teaching, as well as explores such an issue as how to present in-class information and main factors which influence classroom attention. It is believed that the presentation of instructional information in class must take into consideration the learners' needs and their cognitive features. Besides, based on the theories of selective attention and some relevant researches, the principle of presenting instructional information in English class is put forward.
