Abstract

The main purpose of the article is to summarize the theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of the complex green area of the city and to develop a unified approach to the separation of its structural elements. In the course of the research, the scientific developments of domestic and foreign scientists in the field of geoecology, constructive geography and urban ecology were used. The article first presents the ideas developed by the author on the grouping of functions and the separation of structural elements of a complex green area of the city. The study describes the patterns of formation of the concept of «complex green area of the city». It is established that the category «green zone of the city» means the system of green space, only outside the settlement. The complex green area of the city includes landscaping, water and vegetation of the city and suburban area. It is worth noting that the structure of the complex green zone also includes water bodies and farmland, which in the summertime perform important environmental and social functions. In view of this, we have grouped the functions of the complex green zone of the city and distinguished four main groups: ecological, social, economic and climate-regulating, with their further differentiation. It is established that the complex green zone of the city mainly performs environmental and social functions, and therefore, it can be considered as a socio-environmental object of study. It is revealed that today, scientifically substantiated and legally fixed structural elements of the complex green zone of the city are forest park and forest-management parts. The forest parkland includes green spaces of general use, restricted use and special purpose. Which may be located within the city development area, outside the city development, outside the city within the green zone and in undefined territories.Based on the functional-spatial approach, we are proposed to distinguish the following structural elements within the complex green area of the city: nucleus, green corridors and detached green areas. The isolation of these structural elements simplifies the system of mapping and visualization of the green zone, contributes to its more detailed study and takes into account all the green areas of the city without exception. This unified approach proves idea Vladimirov V. that the complex green zone of the city is a kind of a natural framework of the planning structure of the urban ecosystem. Therefore, it can be argued that the purpose of this scientific article is fulfilled. The first part of the study clearly traces the systematization of theoretical and methodological approaches to the interpretation of the concept of a complex green area of the city. The functions of the CGZC are separated and grouped. The second part summarizes the approaches to the structuring of the CGZC and substantiates the idea of identifying the three main structural elements of the complex green zone of the city: nuclei, green corridors and local landscaping. The elementary scheme of the CGZC is illustrated; different groups of green spaces occupy giving a clear idea of what the natural framework of an urbanized environment should look like and what place it.
