Abstract

New potential energy curves and transition-moment functions are calculated using the multireference singles and doubles configuration-interaction approach with the aim of the determination of the transition-moment probabilities and radiative lifetimes for the A 1∑ +- X 1∑ + emission band. The calculated transition moment is in good agreement with experimental values for the Be +( 2 S- 2 P) transition. Total transition probabilities and radiative lifetimes for bound-bound transitions show only a slight variation for the first ten vibrational levels, and there is a decrease in transitional probabilities with v'.
