Abstract

Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) based fiber optic sensor with bi layers of Pt-ZnO is theoretically studied. Sensitivity and figure of merit of sensor enhance with increase in thickness of Pt layer for all thicknesses of ZnO layers. Also, for a fixed thickness of Pt layer, sensitivity and figure of merit rise as the thickness of ZnO layer is raised from 0nm to 20nm 40nm Pt–20nm ZnO based SPR sensor demonstrates the highest sensitivity of 3161nm/RIU.
