Abstract

Art therapy has been used in Britain and the United States for many years, and in the education system, it was first used to students with physical and mental disorders. In the paper, on the basis of expounding the connection between art and medical treatment, it reviews the development of art therapy and the present situation of education. By virtue of the developmental orientation theory and behavioral orientation theory of visual art therapy, specific treatment mechanisms for children with physical and mental disorder is made an analysis. After entering the education system, Art therapy has played an important role in special education and counseling in schools. Not only is it reflected in the classroom students, but also it has an impact on the educational atmosphere of the school. The concept of art therapy is becoming more and more popular at different levels of pragmatism and application, which provides a reference for students with physical and mental disorders, such as emotional, behavioral and social skills and other educational guidance.
