Abstract

In this paper, a 1-THz TE <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">15,9</inf> mode third harmonic gyrotron is numerically designed by the self-consistent non-linear theory. The effects of electron beam voltage, beam current, pitch angle and magnetic field of the efficiency are also analyzed in detail. The relationship between the efficiency of velocity spread and beam thickness are calculated as a comparison. Meanwhile, by using the time-dependent multi-mode nonlinear theory, the mode competitions of the gyrotron are investigated.
