Abstract

We apply an analytical method, within the frame of an atomic interaction model, to calculate the bulk and (110) surface rms thermal vibration amplitudes, − 〈u 2〉 1 2 - in InAs. The calculated surface enhancement factor S is compared with experiment and the role of long-range Coulomb interactions is discussed.
