Abstract

A new thermodynamic model is developed based on the extended perturbed hard sphere chain (PHSC) model and melting point depression theory to describe the phase behaviors of copolymer electrolyte/salt systems. The phase behaviors of poly(ethylene oxide-block-propylene oxide)/LiCF 3SO 3 systems are investigated by thermo-optical analysis (TOA) technique. Quantitative descriptions according to the proposed model are in good agreement with experimental data. The obtained results show that monomer ratio and sequence type of copolymers play a great role in determining eutectic points of the given systems.
