Abstract

Methods. In the course of substantiating the theoretical basics and while researching the evolution of the foundations of enterprise management, logical and historical methods were applied – when identifying the stages of establishment and development of enterprise management; factor analysis – when determining the factors that led to the transition from one stage of the development of approaches to another; analysis and synthesis – while distinguishing the advantages and disadvantages of existing approaches for their application in order to ensure the effectiveness of management decision-making. Results. The article examines the theoretical foundations of the study of the enterprise management process, namely the systemic and functional approaches, which are the basis for the formation of managerial activities and, at the same time, a prerequisite and factor for the effective functioning and creation of prospects for the development of enterprises in a post-industrial society. There are characterized the advantages and disadvantages of approaches to enterprise management while ensuring the effectiveness of decision-making regarding its continuous functioning and development. Novelty. The main provisions and principles of scientific schools regarding the management of a modern enterprise are defined. The local principles of management have been expanded on the basis of their addition, taking into account the modern trends of updating technologies, work, needs for intellectualization of management decisions. The prerequisites for further improvement of the management functions and their essence are substantiated. Practical value lies in the fact that the research results can be used in the practical management of enterprises when they choose the most effective management methods in the conditions of transformational changes in the economy.
