Abstract
Considering both the man and the environment as physical systems a new classification of global man–environment relationship is proposed. By means of a convenient intensive quantity characterizing the environment as well as man global behaviour and a convenient coordinate transformation, this classification allows to explain the man–environment relationship in a coordinate space where quantities of all fields are homogeneous. This result makes it easier to study interactions involving more sensations at the same time. Finally, the existence of the comfort state is connected to a necessary analytical condition and, in addition, an analytical way to determine the sensitivity of global comfort against the different sensations is acquired.
