Abstract

In this paper, we compare two discrete statistical models for the evaluation of a road safety measure. We give a much simpler proof of the expression of the maximum likelihood estimator for the more complex model and we demonstrate theoretical results on the measure of divergence between the two models. The results obtained on real data suggest that both models are very competitive.
