Abstract

Cooperation plays an important role in ensuring the competitiveness of small businesses in the agricultural sector while ensuring high efficiency of production, processing and marketing of products, as well as creating socio-economic conditions for sustainable development of rural areas and employment. Therefore, the development of cooperation is a priority area and special attention is paid to it in Russia. The article attempts to study the theoretical and economic origins of agricultural cooperation when revealing the initial scientific understanding of the role and significance of this phenomenon in the sectoral economy, as well as the initial conditions for the emergence and development of agricultural cooperation in Russia are identified. The study is to identify organizational and legal issues, the solution of which can contribute to the positive development of agricultural cooperation.
