Abstract

The article presents the theoretical aspects of studying the phenomenon of professional burnout on the material of modern foreign studies. The specifics of the phenomenon of professional burnout as a number of components, including burnout associated with the personality of the subject, with professional activity and with other people, are analyzed. The first component includes physical, psycho-emotional and cognitive exhaustion. The second component is psychophysical fatigue in the process of performing professional activities. The third component involves mental and physical fatigue, which is actualized in contacts with clients. Various factors that cause the occurrence of professional burnout are considered. In the process of theoretical analysis, it was found that professional burnout is defined as a three-dimensional reaction to professional stress, characterized by a feeling of fatigue from the demands made, an indifferent attitude to professional activity, as well as inadequate reactions in the context of the workflow. It has been revealed that currently there are a number of unresolved problems in scientific research related to the problem of professional burnout.
