Abstract
Single screw compressor is one of the positive displacement compressors, which has excellent mechanical properties. Gas forces applied on screw are well balanced. However, gas forces applied on gate rotor cannot be balanced without bearings’ support. In order to provide the basis for designing bearing structure and selecting bearing model, loads on the gate rotor bearings are analyzed in this paper. Gas force applied on gate rotor, radial force and axial force applied by gate rotor bearings are respectively analyzed and calculated in two different compressors with air displacement of 6m3/min and 17m3/min.
