Abstract

Attempt at a Theology for a Digital World Every new technical medium of distribution creates a surplus of meaning which has to be captured in new forms of culture. This also challenges religion to develop appropriate [new] forms. The article seeks to offer a new theological approach to interpreting a world existing under conditions of instantaneous, constant digital connectedness. A new openness for the Holy Spirit can create space for interpreting the God experienced among the non-transparent processes of the digital world. What does this mean for the role of the church and for understanding freedom and responsibility vis-à-vis intelligence-based digital processes?
