Abstract

Margit Ostertag presents her thoughts on the following idea: with its specific combination of person- and problem-centeredness, TCI can help individuals to open up space for perspectives of human development and trigger the transformation processes necessary to achieve this. The author traces connections between TCI and psychological (Carl Rogers), philosophical (Martin Buber), sociological (Hartmut Rosa) and educational (Paulo Freire) approaches, thus pointing to a wider scholarly frame of reference and showing that processes of understanding shaped by TCI can affect our society via the individuals involved.
