Abstract
My experience of nursing in Uganda was gained in Kisiizi Mission Hospital where I worked short term as acting theatre sister, in the absence of the permanent theatre nurse who was on long overdue leave. That I had had no theatre experience did not seem to bother the warm-hearted senior sister. And so it was that this remote little hospital became my home for 3 months.
