Abstract

Theater is a powerful pedagogical tool that can offer countless benefits at different levels of education, aiming to promote learning. Thus, this text aims to establish a dialogue between theater and education, reflecting on its characteristics and applicability in the teaching and learning process, using a narrative methodology. Thus, in elementary school, theater stimulates the imagination and facilitates the understanding of abstract concepts. In high school, it contributes to the development of critical awareness and self-knowledge in students, and in higher education, it favors the improvement of interpersonal and professional skills. By incorporating theater into educational practices, a more dynamic and engaging learning environment is created, promoting the integral development of students. This results in the formation of more conscious, critical, communicative and empathetic individuals, strengthening an education that values not only technical learning, but also human and social development. In short, theater and education converge in several essential aspects, such as the promotion of meaningful learning, the stimulation of expression and self-confidence, the collective construction of knowledge and the commitment to social transformation. In this way, theater and education, by complementing each other, expand the possibilities of teaching and learning, offering a richer pedagogical approach that is connected to the needs of human beings and society.
