Abstract

The reaction 114Cd(t, p)116Cd has been studied with a 15 MeV triton beam. 21 energy levels in 116Cd have been identified up to approximately 3.5 MeV excitation, four of which were previously unreported. Angular distributions were measured and compared with distorted-wave Born-approximation calculations in order to make L transfer (and hence Jpi ) assignments. The assignments to 13 of the states are reported for the first time.
