Abstract

The accuracy achieved in modern photo-electric photometry requires a revision of the problem of the zero-point. The author proposed to determine fundamental magnitudes of A and K stars of sixth magnitude in the neighbourhood of Selected Areas. Photo-electric observations were carried out in 1951–1953 at the Wroclaw and Białków Observatories in the declination zones + 75° and + 60°. A new method for the determination of extra-atmospheric magnitudes has been outlined.
