Abstract

Abstract: “The Yellow Boat” is an associative fantasia on the color yellow inspired by the Pierre Bonnard painting of the same name. “Digging for Apples” takes its title from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and is partly inspired by Walter Ralegh’s “Passionate Man’s Pilgrimage.” It considers the possibility that poems have no interest in humans, who are merely the voyeurs of poetry’s constant self-reflection and self-love.
