The Year of Music in Estonia and the Libraries

Abstract

English Abstract: This article gives an overview of musical activities that took place in Estonia and in Estonian libraries in 2015, which was officially dedicated to music. Year of project supported concerts and also created new events, concerts, and activities. year was highlighted by the celebration of the anniversaries of Estonian composers Veljo Tormis (1930–2017) and Arvo Part. Libraries in Estonia were perhaps especially touched by the Year of project, as concerts, lectures, and other music related happenings do not as often find their way into libraries as they did in 2015. French Abstract: Cet article donne un apercu des activites musicales en Estonie et dans les bibliotheques estoniennes en 2015, qui furent officiellement dediees a la musique. Le projet The Year of Music (L'annee de la musique) a permis d'apporter son soutien a des concerts et egalement de creer de nouveaux evenements, concerts et activites. L'annee fut couronnee par la celebration de l'anniversaire des compositeurs estoniens Veljo Tormis (1930–2017) et Arvo Part. Les bibliotheques en Estonie ont sans aucun doute ete particulierement marquees par L'annee de la musique puisque les concerts, conferences et autres evenements musicaux n'ont jamais aussi bien trouve leur place en bibliotheque qu'en 2015. German Abstract: Dieser Artikel bietet einen Uberblick uber die musikalischen Aktivitaten, die in Estland und in den estnischen Bibliotheken im Jahr 2015 stattfanden, das offiziell die in de Fokus gestellt hatte. Im Rahmen des Projektes „Jahr der Musik wurden Konzerte unterstutzt und auch neuartige Veranstaltungen und Aktivitaten umgesetzt. Glanzlichter setzten dem Jahr die Feierlichkeiten zu den Jahrestagen der estnischen Komponisten Veljo Tormis (1930–2017) und Arvo Part (*1935) auf. Die estnischen Bibliotheken waren moglicherweise besonders in das Projekt „Jahr der Musik involviert, da Konzerte, Lesungen und andere musikaffine Veranstaltungen normalerweise nicht in dem Mase ihren Weg in die Bibliotheken finden, wie es im Jahre 2015 der Fall war.
