Abstract
JARLATH KILLEEN writes in his book The Faiths of Oscar Wilde (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005) that Wilde was blessed several times by Pope Pius IX during Wilde's last trip to Rome in 1900 (187). Pope Pius IX died in 1878; the Vicar of Christ who gave public blessings in 1900 was Pope Leo XIII.
