Abstract
Preaching is a genre of religious discourse that traditionally has been available only to men. The past three decades have seen large numbers of women entering the Christian ministry and standing before congregations in order to expound the words of scripture. The gendered body is an essential part of the liturgical context of preaching but has so far been largely neglected in studies of gender and preaching.
