Abstract

The Wheeler-DeWitt equation in one degree of freedom is used to analyze quantized 4 + n dimensional general relativity that is constrained to describe a Kaluza-Klein (M 4 × S n ) geometry. It is concluded that one degree of freedom is inadequate for a realistic calculation of the radius of S n .
