Abstract
A study was made of the effect of time, temperature, and concentration on the angle of contact between aluminum oxide and chromium-nickel melts. The wetting isotherm has a minimum. The presence of the minimum is attributed to reaction between the melt and solid aluminum oxide. The best adhesion to aluminum oxide is exhibited by nickel-chromium alloys containing up to 30 at.% chromium.
