Chief Metallurgist, The Babcock & Wilcox Company, Barberton, Ohio. Doctor Hodge is well-qualified to speak with authority on the welding of all pressure vessels, and in particular, on fired pressure vessels, where the demand for safety assurance transcends all other considerations. His research work, conducted for his own company from the very start of this branch of the welding art, his work on the Boiler Code Committee of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and his many contributions to the welding bibliography, have given him an international reputation.
