Abstract

One way to reduce the rate of corrosion on the surface underwater area of the ship is to use Zink Anode. The wear rate is an important role in knowing how much Zink Anode can meet the needs of surface underwater area of hull plate to reduce of corrosion rate. This study aims to obtain protection against corrosion rate by conducting analysis of the wear rate on Zink Anodes in the field and calculation data so that the exact rate of use of Zink Anodes is installed according to the need to reduce the corrosion rate. To know the ability of Zink Anode installed, it takes corrosion rate data in the last 5 years from 3 ships and also the number of Zink Anodes used annually. As a result of this study, the wear rate that tends to remain and decrease can reduce the corrosion rate. Whereas, the increasing wear rate results in an increased corrosion rate.
