A workshop on Native American literature challenges a teacihe ers beliefs and practices. n October some years ago the Seattle Post-Intelligencer carried an article entitled 'Spiritual Ceremonies Divide School (Oct. 31, 1995, A5). Originally written by Mark Shaffer of The Arizona Republic, this article recounted a troublesome series of events that began when a junior at a high school northeast of Phoenix brought the cremated remains of her mother to an English class to show her friend.
