Abstract

This article expects to provide a general-historic vision of the origin of “voseo”, its usage and expansion in Hispanic America, as well as its presence in the Costa Rican literature of the second mid and end of the XXth century. Furthermore, it places the use of “voseo” in the teaching-learning process of Spanish as a mother tongue in Costa Rica, according to the rules of the Ministry of Education.
