Abstract

By numerically modeling the efflux of a weak submerged stream into a transverse flow possessing a higher temperature, it is shown that the resulting temperature field is strongly affected by a pairwise vortex structure appearing in the vicinity of the efflux site, where the stream interacts with the main flow. This effect was previously reported only for intense transverse streams.
