Abstract

We present an overview of visualization tools for parallel systems focusing on parallel debuggers, performance evaluation systems, and program visualization systems. Our goal in this paper is to summarize the issues addressed throughout the entire process of generating a visualization, highlighting the areas in which particular systems have made important contributions. Our discussion is focused along two levels: the visualization task being performed, and the purpose of the visualization. This article also serves as a bibliographic compendium of existing research on the visualization of parallel systems.
