Abstract
For the first time, using the Force Modulation mode of AFM, visualization of elastic domains in Semi-crystalline ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE) films are successfully obtained. The elastic domains are not so easily imaged by common morphology measurements. Only two kinds of domains, one with high elasticity and another with low elasticity, are present in all obtained images. The great difference of the elasticity between these two kinds of domains suggests that the high-elasticity domains may be corresponding to crystalline domains and low-elasticity domains to amorphous domains. Comparison of domain structure of a sample with high crystallinity with a sample with low crystallinity is also presented in this paper.
