Abstract
VISIONS (for Visual Integration by Semantic Interpretation Of Natural Scenes) 3 deals with the questions posited by the technical topic for the June SIGART Newsletter. E. Riseman and A. Hanson are developing the VISIONS research project with the long-range goal of analysing a wide variety of natural scenes. The problems incurred in machine interpretation of natural scenes are manifold. The three questions, however, do summarize several of the major thrusts of our effort.
